this album feels exactly like spring to me! i'm so excited for the flowers to bloom
(in no particular order :3)
The Acrobats - by Helvetia
a solid...9/10! I enjoy the dreamy sounds of the guitar, the fun drum fills, and the cheerful composing! this album was my absoulte favorite in teh summer of 2023, so it holds a special place it my heart ^^ the music isn't too boring tho...it always has a fun quirk to the rhythm that keeps you listening! the singer's voice isn't too whiney or annoying, and it fits with the rest of the music!
Four Calender Cafe - by the Cocteau Twins
A 10/10!!! this is easily one of my favorite albums. Of course, I'm biased as I love the Cocteau Twins--but I feel as though this album encompasses their dreamy, forgetful sound rather than their hit album 'Heaven or Las Vegas.' The opening song 'Know Who You Are At Every Age' leading into 'Evangeline' is absolute musical perfection, from the tone to the rhythm to the lyrics!!! This album hits close to home and will always be a favorite.
Mother Earth's Plantasia - by Mort Garson
A 70s digital masterpiece. From the cover art to the instrumentation, this album is just so...SILLY!!!! The plant theme of course is brilliant, while the music taking roots from African music to new-age American media is even more incredible. The different swatches of culture within the album just tie everything together and create a cohesive sound when listening to it in full. 10/10!
